ROBSON RANCH MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION

Whether you are new to golf or a grizzled veteran, the RRMGA has something for you. It is open to all male residents at Robson Ranch. We host weekly “play day” events on Thursday mornings throughout the year, and whether you play or not is your choice.  We play different “games” each week such as 4 Man Scrambles, Best Ball, Team Low Net, Texas Two Step, Shamble, Poker Run, Individual Net etc. If you don’t know the game, don’t worry, we will explain it to you and you will be with people who have played before to explain it.

Most play day events as well as our major events are “flighted” where you are competing against players with a similar handicap. We have members with low single digit handicaps all the way to players with handicaps in the 30’s, so there is no reason not to join. We are an easy going group and welcome new players all year long!

The RRMGA also hosts several major events throughout the year such as Match Play where you are pitted against players with similar handicaps in a hole by hole Match Play format; the Robson Cup where the low “Net” score is the winner; the Club Championship where the winner is the low “Gross” score. We also have a Senior Club Championship from the forward tees for those over 72.  In addition, we also have the Wildhorse Cup where the participants are divided into two teams and a Ryder Cup format is used.  There are two Member-Member tournaments where you choose your partner; and the Member Guest tournament.  In addition, we try to have social events at various times throughout the year.

Yearly dues, which in 2023-2024 are $75, go towards paying for and maintaining a USGA Handicap for you, paying for the MGA’s share of the Golf Genius electronic scoring software and gets you access to all the RRMGA events and social events throughout the year. There is also a “New Member” mentor program where you can get in contact with someone in your handicap range, play some golf with them, learn the course, be shown how to make tee time reservations on line via the Chelsea system and generally get you fully acquainted with all the golf options available to you here at “The Ranch.” We  have a website with lots of information on it if you are looking for more information.  It is www.rrmga.com. If you have any other questions, please contact us at  rrmgavote@gmail.com or contact one of the officers/ board members whose contact information is posted on the back wall in the Pro Shop. Membership applications can be found in the Kiosk in the back of the Pro Shop or on the RRMGA web site.
